Philip Malazarte
She was gone, and nothing could change that. The love of my life, the light that lit my dark world was gone. But life moves on. Of course it does. Life doesn’t stop for you. Life doesn’t allow you to grieve. It’s like the ocean. Always in motion, uncaring, wearing away at the shores of your heart. It goes whether you want it to or not. But life finds ways to apologize. It finds ways to ease the pain. Things like spring, when the birds are at their loudest. Things like the sun, warming up the coldest recesses of my world. Things like a brisk wind, the empty space, filling my lungs, burning my throat, a breeze that clears my mind. A breath of fresh air. Just as she was.
