Love

Philip Malazarte

Love is a construct. A mass buildup of hormones and various other emotions. There is no scientific evidence to prove the existence of love. People act as if love is some great achievement, but what are you achieving? The word “love” in and of itself, is worthless. Why do you think you say, “ I love this song” or “Oh my god, I love this”. It’s because in your subconscious, you realize that love holds no weight, has no presence. People waste their lives chasing after love while it sits, pampered, atop it’s ivory tower, tainted with the blood of broken hearts who thought they had finally found love. Love is just a placeholder. A substitute. In my eyes, “Love” is just something we say so that we don’t have to admit just how lonely and desperate we really are.
